Rachel Colleen Robins is a New York City-based actor, singer, and teaching artist with 20 years of performance experience. She holds a BFA in Theatre Performance with a concentration in Musical Theatre from The University of Texas at El Paso, where she performed extensively in both musical and dramatic works. An operatic soprano with a notably deep alto range, Rachel’s voice combines the agility and clarity of a soprano with rich, resonant lower tones, giving her instrument an unusual breadth and versatility. Her credits include Diana in Next to Normal, Spider in Jekyll & Hyde, Mother in The Pillowman, Sister Mary Patrick in Sister Act, and Rona Lisa Perretti in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, among others. She has also continued her professional training through Actor Therapy with Lindsay Mendez and Ryan Scott Oliver since 2019.

Alongside her performance career, Rachel has spent more than 10 years working with elementary-aged children and three years teaching in a formal school setting. She has also coached and directed adult performers in formal theatrical settings, including directing productions of Tick, Tick... BOOM! and Godspell. Across all of her teaching and directing work, Rachel believes that learning theatre—especially as a young person—should be rooted in curiosity, creativity, play, and the freedom to be a little weird. She is passionate about helping young performers develop strong acting technique and healthy artistic habits while preserving the joy and imagination that make theatre so exciting in the first place. Her work with students focuses on acting technique, musicality, character development, audition preparation, and making confident, specific choices, while giving them space to experiment, take risks, and discover what kind of performer they want to become. Whether she's stepping onto the stage herself or helping another performer find their way onto it, Rachel loves the process of turning a collection of words and notes into something alive.
